Democrat senator's aide could face criminal charges for X-rated video clip in Senate chamber

Following the widespread dissemination of his X-rated video clip on the internet, a Democrat congressional aide was terminated for filming a gay sex tape in the Senate and is now being investigated for possible criminal charges.

Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland terminated the employment of Aidan Maese-Czeropski, who was 24 years old, on Saturday afternoon, according to The Daily Mail.

This decision was made less than a day after a lewd video was released that showed two males engaging in sexual activity in a Senate hearing room.

It has been claimed that the Capitol Police are currently conducting an investigation into the graphic event, which took place in the same room where senators question nominees for the Supreme Court.

After appearing in a video for the 2020 campaign alongside Joe Biden, the assistant has already provoked outrage by releasing his own statement on LinkedIn on Friday night. In the post, he claims that he is being "attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda."

“While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace,” he said.

“Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.”

Although the troubled employee has stated that he is contemplating taking legal action, it is possible that Capitol Police will join him in his pursuit of justice.

It has been reported that they are investigating whether or not he violated any laws. Trespassing and obscenity are two examples of the types of offenses the former senator's staffer could be guilty of.

Contacted by journalists Saturday morning, shortly before his firing was confirmed, Maese-Czeropski's mother Magdalena Rivera Maese implied her son had been left distraught by what had happened, saying: “You don't want to know how he's doing.”

An investigation has apparently been opened into the video, which was believed to have been initially shared in a private group chat for gay males on The Hill. However, now that the investigation has been opened, his situation is thought likely to change.

According to attorney Jonathan Turley, there are a variety of regulations that could have been possibly breached, one of which is the question of whether or not an unofficial use of the hearing room could be considered trespassing.

Additionally, he stated that the staff member could find themselves in legal trouble if the tape was shot in the public room with the intention of generating cash, or if it could be considered a lewd, indecent, or obscene behavior.

Whether or not he misappropriated or damaged government property is another matter that has been claimed to be a matter of uncertainty.

According to Jewish Congressman Max Miller, who spoke with the Washington Free Beacon, Maese-Czeropski confronted him and yelled "Free Palestine" in his face just a few days before the recordings became public.

Maese-Czeropski said of those allegations: “As for the accusations regarding Congressman Max Miller, I have never seen the congressman and had no opportunity or cause to yell or confront him.”
