Michigan Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin has amended two years of financial disclosures to include her husband's salary that, involved a company connected with government grants.
The information was first reported by Fox News regarding the updated financial disclosures.

"Up until this week, Slotkin's 2020 and 2021 financial disclosures did not indicate any employment for her husband, other than his military pension," the report stated.
"On Wednesday, Slotkin filed two amended reports that showed her husband was employed by Emissary LLC in both 2020 and 2021. Both amended reports listed his employment with the company under the earned income classification," it continued.

Slotkin has also been in headlines recently, claiming that the Democratic Party needs "new blood," referring to a desire for younger leaders in contrast with President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and other party members.
The latest update comes just weeks ahead of important midterm elections. Republicans hope to gain enough seats to take back power in the House, with Slotkin facing fierce competition from the GOP in her effort to remain in power.
