Conservative Dan Bongino leaving Fox News amid questions about Fox's conservative identity

Dan Bongino announced he is leaving his role as a host at Fox News.

The popular news personality shared the announcement on Thursday.

The announcement

“Folks, regretfully, last week was my last show on Fox News, on the Fox News channel,” Bongino said.

“I had to let my team know here this morning. And it’s tough, it’s tough to say that," he added.

No conspiracy

“We were the number one show 90% of the time. We had a great team,” Bongino shared in his announcement.

“You’re going to read a thousand left-wing articles about some nonsense, and I’m guaranteeing you on my reputation, it is all made up. It’s a simple contract thing, and that’s it. It is no more complicated than that," he continued.

The parting with Fox News may be without complaint but the timing is closely associated with a massive out-of-court settlement between the network and Dominion Voting Systems reaching back three years ago to the dispute following former President Donald Trump's loss to President Joe Biden.

Fox News agreed to a settlement of over $780 million dollars this week to end the lengthy legal battle against the network over allegations of defamation against the voting software company. Dominion argued that the network was liable for damage over remarks made about it following questions over the 2020 presidential election.

"Fox is also being sued by another election company, Smartmatic, which is seeking around $2.7 billion. Fox contends the two cases are very different and that it will vigorously defend itself if the Smartmatic case eventually comes to trial," the Hill reported.

Dominion also has ongoing legal cases against others over the 2020 election, including Newsmax, OAN, Mike Lindell and Rudy Giuliani. Regardless of other legal matters, Bongino is now out, choosing instead to remain from the network and broadcast his programs independently on Rumble as he seeks to continue speaking out on issues of importance to patriotic Americans.
