The Colorado Supreme Court agreed to hear an appeal in the case of the 14th Amendment used to keep former President Donald Trump off the 2024 ballot.
The move came after a lower court ruled in favor of Trump last week.

"Trump in his appeal to the Colorado Supreme Court said he agreed with the latter part of the ruling keeping him on the state’s ballot but is appealing on other issues," the Hill reported.
“But the district court nonetheless made legal and factual findings wholly unsupported in the law, and these errors demand review – especially if the Petitioners in this matter also seek review of the sole dispositive issue upon which President Trump prevailed,” Trump’s attorneys wrote.

"The development was expected. Attorney Andrew Lieb of Lieb at Law predicted earlier on Tuesday that the matter would proceed to the Colorado Supreme Court," the Washington Examiner reported.
"There have been findings that Trump caused an insurrection, and this issue isn't going away," he said.

"The district judge rightly rejected the far-left’s efforts to keep President Trump off the ballot, but she then went out of her way to wrongly criticize the President," Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement to NBC.
"We’ve asked the Colorado Supreme Court to strike her wrong-headed speculation, because it goes far beyond her jurisdiction," he continued.
The legal battle adds to other challenges Trump is facing in a New York fraud trial in Manhattan. He also faces over 90 charges in cases in Florida, Georgia and Washington where more cases are expected in 2024. His Georgia case is currently scheduled just days before the state's primary.
The attacks has so far not slowed down Trump's comeback bid for the White House. He leads over GOP challengers in primary polls and increasingly polls well against President Joe Biden.
The Colorado battle is a big one but so far has not blocked Trump from the ballot as he seeks to become president again next year, working to make Biden a one-term president through his successful campaign over the next year.
