If you are expecting things to calm down in this country anytime soon, you have another thing coming.
The heated political rhetoric is getting worse, and attacks are now happening more often.
The latest concerning event took place in California, when a U-Haul truck was fired on by security at a Coast Guard base.
In July, ICE agents were ambushed at a facility in Texas.
According to reports, there were roughly a dozen people, all dressed in black, who started to ignite fireworks at the facility.
They were also painting graffiti on the building, such as “traitor,” as well as writing other profanities.
As a local law enforcement arrived at the scene, the group had a sniper in the woods who opened fire, striking an officer in the neck.
This week, there was yet another apparent attempt to breach the White House.
On Tuesday, it was reported that a driver of a grey Acura had been arrested after slamming the vehicle into a White House barrier.
Authorities stated, “At approximately 10:37 p.m., an individual drove a vehicle into the Secret Service vehicle gate located at 17th & E St, NW, in Washington, DC.”
Donald Trump was at the White House at the time, but Secret Service representatives stated that he was never in any danger. That aside, it just goes to show how insane people are becoming, and we still have three years left in this presidency.
Then we woke up today to reports that a U-Haul truck approached the Coast Guard base in California, but the driver ignored commands to halt, so security officers opened fire on the vehicle. It is worth noting that the Coast Guard has also been involved in conducting immigration operations.
A spokesperson stated, "When the vehicle’s actions posed a direct threat to the safety of Coast Guard and security personnel, law enforcement officers discharged several rounds of live fire.”
According to reports, the truck was spotted parked outside the base for most of the day. When the driver came under fire, he reportedly fled the scene. After the incident, two men were reported to have gone to a local hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds, and authorities believe one of them was the driver of the truck.
This all comes on the heels of Trump backing off on the law enforcement “surge” he promised to send to California, but he may want to rethink that decision now.
