CIA report reveals Trump was targeted

A bombshell CIA report has unmasked a calculated effort by top intelligence officials to smear President Donald Trump with baseless Russian collusion claims. The revelations, declassified by current CIA Director John Ratcliffe, expose a web of deceit spun by figures like John Brennan, James Clapper, and James Comey. Their actions, rooted in a discredited dossier, aimed to cripple Trump’s presidency before it began.

As reported by Fox News, the report details how Brennan, Clapper, and Comey used a dossier—funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign—to falsely tie Trump to Russia during the 2016 election. This document, authored by former British spy Christopher Steele, was debunked by the FBI before Trump’s January 2017 inauguration. Yet, these officials pressed forward, wielding it as a weapon against a newly elected president.

Steele’s dossier, riddled with unverified claims, was no secret to the FBI, which fired him for lying as a source. Despite this, Comey’s FBI concealed the dossier’s flaws and used it to target Trump. The truth was buried, and a false narrative was fed to the public.

Intelligence Chiefs’ Coordinated Effort

Brennan, as CIA director, pushed to include the dossier in the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), ordered by President Barack Obama. He handpicked analysts and sidelined 13 key intelligence agencies to stifle dissent. Senior CIA Russia experts, who warned the dossier was unreliable, were ignored.

The CIA’s deputy director for analysis cautioned Brennan in writing that the dossier would undermine the ICA’s credibility. Brennan dismissed the warning, determined to weave the dossier into the report. Completed just days before Trump’s inauguration, the ICA became a tool to tarnish his legitimacy.

Clapper and Comey backed Brennan’s efforts, promoting the dossier’s use to propagate the collusion myth. They orchestrated leaks to create an illusion of corroboration between the dossier and ICA. This deception fueled a media frenzy that hounded Trump’s early presidency.

Leaking and Lying Exposed

Clapper leaked dossier details to CNN before Trump’s inauguration, priming the media to amplify the narrative. Comey used the dossier to justify surveillance warrants and briefed Trump in January 2017, enabling further leaks. These actions, the report reveals, were deliberate steps to undermine a sitting president.

Comey’s leaking of FBI documents triggered the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, whose two-year investigation found no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion in 2019. The report lays bare the futility of the probe, built on a foundation of lies. Yet, the damage to Trump’s administration was done.

Brennan denied under oath that the dossier was used in the ICA, a claim the report directly contradicts. Clapper initially echoed this lie but later backtracked. Neither faced prosecution for perjury, raising questions about accountability in Washington’s elite circles.

Media Hires and Ongoing Deception

After leaving their posts, Brennan joined MSNBC and Clapper joined CNN, where they continued to push the collusion narrative. Their platforms amplified the false story, misleading millions of viewers. The report calls this a betrayal of public trust by those once tasked with protecting it.

National Security Agency Director Michael Rogers provided Congress with documents proving the dossier’s role in the ICA. His evidence exposed the lies of Brennan and Clapper, yet no legal consequences followed. The report paints a picture of unchecked power within intelligence agencies.

Ratcliffe, who declassified the review, didn’t mince words: “Brennan, Clapper and Comey manipulated intelligence and silenced career professionals — all to get Trump.” His blunt assessment underscores the gravity of the officials’ actions. The report suggests a deliberate plot, not mere incompetence.

Push for Accountability

Brennan later admitted in 2019, “I don’t know if I received bad information, but I think I suspected there was more than there actually was.” This half-hearted concession does little to absolve his role in promoting a debunked dossier. It’s a classic case of too little, too late from a bureaucrat caught in the act.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is now investigating, vowing to uncover every detail of this scandal. “We are digging deep to find everything that has been related to this,” Gabbard said, promising that U.S. attorneys are already building cases. Her commitment offers hope for justice in a saga of betrayal.

The CIA report is a stark reminder of how far some will go to cling to power. It exposes a shameful chapter where intelligence chiefs, entrusted with truth, peddled fiction to sabotage a president. Gabbard’s probe must deliver the accountability Americans deserve, lest this abuse of power repeat itself.
