Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Hillary Clinton, blasted leftists for going after Barron Trump after his 18th Birthday.
Clinton appeared for an interview on "The View" where she stated that former President Donald Trump's youngest son had an "unimpeachable right to privacy."
During the interview, co-host Ana Navarro asked Clinton about her views on Barron Trump as she herself was the child of a president during former President Bill Clinton's time in office.
This discussion was prompted by an NBC executive posting to X that Barron Trump was "fair game" now that he is an adult.
He was quickly forced to delete it thanks to a large amount of backlash but the post already started a conversation on Barron Trump and if the media should be encouraging open warfare on prominent children of politicians who haven't done anything wrong.
Mike Sington, a former NBC executive, defended his post in a statement to Newsweek saying he had "posted he was 'fair game' now, meaning, as an adult, he's 'fair game' for criticism from the press."
He added, "Someone pointed out to me 'fair game' could mean fair game to be harmed. I don't wish physical harm on anyone, so I took it down. I listen to the comments and criticism I receive."
Many didn't believe Sington's excuse as it is well known that the insane hatred that the left has for Donald Trump has often spilled over and targeted other members of the Trump family.
Clinton stood up for Trump by saying, "I think he’s a private citizen. I mean, I feel so strongly that if you are a private citizen, you have an unimpeachable right to privacy, and I think the media should leave him alone."
Co-host Joy Behar responded by asking Clinton about Trump's other children but she pointed out that they were actively involved in politics and their father's campaign so there was no need to shield them from the media.
Regardless, this sensible stance won't likely be shared by many on the left. Now that Barron Trump is an adult, there will be immense pressure on him but he is surrounded by a strong family and many believe he has been raised for this moment.
While rabid liberals look for any way to lash out at the Trump name, not everything is bad news for Barron Trump. He has spent the last few years under the wing of his mother Melania and by all accounts she has set him up for success.
Barron Trump possesses many of the qualities that his father has and many believe that one day he could be a real force, more so than his older brothers.
No doubt he has seen much of the hatred and vitriol directed at his family and that will only serve to motivate him to greater successes.
