Carville: Mamdani needs to wise up

Zohran Mamdani has suddenly become the most polarizing figure in the United States, and he has only won the Democrat primary race in the New York City mayor’s race.

Democrat leadership appears to be caving to Mamdani, and his allies are already showing their true intent. That aside, a Democrat strategist believes the rising star of the party is making one large mistake that could end his career.

Replacing leadership

I would have hoped that Democrat leadership would have stood up to some of the words and actions of Mamdani in the past, demanding an apology, but that is not what happened.

Instead, DNC Chair Ken Martin made one of the most ridiculous excuses for making room for Mamdani in the party.

He stated, “There’s no candidate in this party that I agree 100% of the time with, to be honest with you. There [are] things that I don’t agree with Mamdani that he said. But, at the end of the day, I always believe, as a Democratic Party chair in Minnesota for the last 14 years, and now the Chair of the DNC, that you win through addition. You win by bringing people into your coalition."

Martin continued, “We have conservative Democrats. We have centrist Democrats. We have labor progressives like me, and we have this new brand of Democrat, which is the leftist. And we win by bringing people into that coalition. And, at the end of the day, for me, that’s the type of party we’re going to lead. We are a big tent party. Yes, it leads to dissent and debate, and there [are] differences of opinions on a whole host of issues. But we should celebrate that as a party and recognize, at the end of the day, we’re better because of it.”

Dial it down

Now, imagine the outrage of RNC leadership made a comment like that about the Proud Boys or some Neo-Nazi group because that is on par with Mamdani.

James Carville, a Democrat strategist who has one of the worst cases of TDS I have ever seen, has been making a lot of outlandish comments lately, but he actually got this one right.

In telling Mamdani to dial it back, warning Mamdani about refusing to decry “globalize the intifada,” Carville stated, "Yeah, I mean, come on, man, just, s---, just get it out your mouth.”

One of the reasons Mamdani may be embracing this is because, quite frankly, younger Democrats do not like Israel, so he may have made the conscious decision to alienate older voters and dig deep into the younger base, hoping to play the long game.

Making a move

I am a firm believer that the best way to take over any organization or country is from within, and that is what I think we are seeing here. First, we had AOC, and the left fell in love with her, all the while she was reviving Senator Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) quest to turn the United States into a socialist country.

Then we had people like Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) run for office, not to mention all the local seats that George Soros has backed around the country. If the United States were a publicly traded company, this would be considered a hostile takeover.

To that point, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) stated, "this movement is bigger than one person, election, city, or organization." The statement continued, "We encourage all people inspired by the Zohran campaign to join their local DSA or YDSA chapter and get involved so we can continue to fight alongside Zohran and DSA elected officials across the country to create the future we all deserve.”

New York City’s Democratic Socialists of America chapter co-chair Gustavo Gordillo, on Jeffries, stated, "His leadership has left a vacuum that organizations like DSA are filling. I think that is more important right now.”

If you want my opinion on this, New York is now ground zero for the movement, testing the waters to see if they can take over a city, then House leadership, then most certainly a run at the White House.
