'Breaking Bad' actor Mike Batayeh dead at 52

Fans of one of television's most popular series, "Breaking Bad," were saddened this week to learn of the passing of a beloved character.

According to the Daily Caller, Mike Batayeh, known for his role in the hit show as the manager of Gustavo’s laundromat, passed away on June 1 at age 52.

"He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many," his family wrote in a statement.

The family noted in the obituary: "Donations go to supporting and providing recreation to the Southwest Detroit youth. Mike was always passionate about helping youth in the community where he lived and grew up facing similar challenges."

It was reported that the young actor died of a heart attack, though family members added that the actor had no prior heart issues or medical history that would have contributed to such a horrific event.

The Daily Caller noted:

The famous actor was a respected comedian that traveled the globe to perform stand-up comedy acts. He also appeared on “The Bernie Mac Show,” “Boy Meets World” and “CSI Miami,” working as both an actor and voiceover actor, according to TMZ.

Many across social media questioned the young actor's sudden death, noting that there appears to be an uptrend in deaths among younger people.

Tributes to the actor, including from those he worked with in the "Breaking Bad" world, poured in across social media upon news of his shocking and sudden death.

"Mike Batayeh was one of my 1st & best friends in comedy in LA & a great comedian. He played Dennis in #BreakingBad of course. No matter how successful, he always included friends. Class act. Ask God to please go easy on us Jews, Mike. It will be a great favor coming from you RIP," Steven Lolli tweeted.

It was reported that Batayeh is survived by five sisters and many nieces and nephews.

He will undoubtedly be missed by his family, friends, and fans around the world.
