Bragg's reputation comes to light - called worst DA in America

Concerns about the validity of the trial of former President Donald Trump taking place in New York City have only increased in recent weeks.

The former president is being prosecuted by District Attorney Alvin Bragg who has a less than stellar reputation, as was outlined by Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), in an interview on Fox News.

The New York Republican called Bragg the worst district attorney in the United States and had less than positive thoughts about the Biden administration's role in justice and how it's impacted his home state.

The lawmaker called the state and New York City's migrant response, calling the way immigrants are allowed to flee "disastrous."

On Bragg

Following a recording being played of Bragg's comments about his thoughts on his position, Lawler said that Bragg "should be fired."

According to the lawmaker, the state of affairs in New York City allows victims to be thrown under the bus, criminals are put on a pedestal, and law enforcement is "spat on" by Bragg due to "pro-criminal" policies.

Lawler also aimed his ire at New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

Bragg's Case on Trump

Despite the increasing crime, Bragg announced a 34-count Felony indictment of Trump in April of last year, saying he was being charged with "34 counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree."

“The People of the State of New York allege that Donald J. Trump repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records to conceal crimes that hid damaging information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election,” said District Attorney Bragg.

“Manhattan is home to the country’s most significant business market. We cannot allow New York businesses to manipulate their records to cover up criminal conduct.

"As the Statement of Facts describes, the trail of money and lies exposes a pattern that, the People allege, violates one of New York’s basic and fundamental business laws.

"As this office has done time and time again, we today uphold our solemn responsibility to ensure that everyone stands equal before the law.”

More on the Case

From August 2015 to December 2017, Trump is alleged to have organized his "catch and kill" plot by making a series of payments, which he subsequently hid by creating fictitious corporate entries for months.

An ex-doorman at Trump Tower who claimed to have information regarding a child Trump had outside of wedlock received $30,000 from American Media Inc.
