Black Lives Matter announces support for Hamas in its attack on Israel

Multiple Black Lives Matter (BLM) groups have come out in support of Hamas amid its deadly terror attack on Israel.

This includes Black Lives Matter Grassroots, which represents 26 BLM chapters across America.

Here is the pro-Hamas statement that the group released on X on Monday:

BLM Grassroots makes its position known right up front, titling the post, "Black Lives Matter Grassroots Statement in Solidarity with the Palestinian People."

BLM Grassroots then tries to characterize Hamas' terrorist attack on the Jewish people as "a desperate act of self-defense."

The group writes,

As the world is faced with deep questions about self-determination, as well all desire and pray for a world of peace, we must stand unwaveringly on the side of the oppressed. When a people have been subject to decades of apartheid and unimaginable violence, their resistance must not be condemned, but understood as a desperate act of self-defense.

BLM Grassroots goes on to attempt to further justify its position, claiming that the Palestinians are merely resisting their oppressors as Black people have had to do.

The group writes:

Black Lives Matter Grassroots stands in solidarity with our Palestinian family who are currently resisting 57 years of settler colonialism and apartheid. As Black people continue the fight to end militarism and mass incarcerations in our own communities, let us understand the resistance in Palestine as an attempt to tear down the gates of the world’s biggest open air prison. As a radical Black organization grounded in abolitionist ideals, we see clear parallels between Black and Palestinian people.

BLM Grassroots continues along these lines before going to on to claim that "for lasting peace to come, the entire apartheid system must be dismantled" and "the ware on the Palestinian people must cease." BLM Grassroots concludes its statement by calling for America to withdraw its support if Israel.

In addition to BLM Grassroots, the Chicago chapter of BLM also released a statement in support of Hamas. The statement was originally posted to X, but, at the time of this writing, it appears to have been taken down.

Fox News reports:

The Chicago Black Lives Matter chapter sparked outrage on Tuesday after it posted a graphic of a paraglider with the Palestinian flag that read "I Stand With Palestine." The group has since deleted the post. The BLM Chicago account accompanied the X post with the caption "That is all that is it!" The post was later updated by X, formerly known as Twitter, with a community note that read "On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists in paragliders attacked a music festival in Israel, killing over 260 people."

The death toll has grown since then. It is being reported that at least 1,200 Israeli people have died and at least 25 Americans as a result of Hamas' terrorist attack.

This makes Hamas' attack the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. In addition to this, there is the horrific manner in which Hamas has gone about its attack - pure terrorism. Yet, apparently, some members of BLM support this.
