“The documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives,” Richard Sauber, special counsel to the White House, said in a Monday statement, according to Fox News.
“Since that discovery, the President’s personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives," it added.

"Lausch, a U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, is one of two current Trump-era U.S. attorneys still serving. The other is Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who is leading a probe into Hunter Biden, the president's son," according to Newsmax.
"The Presidential Records Act requires all presidential and vice-presidential documents be turned over to the National Archives, and there are special protocols to keep classified information secure," it added.
When will the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team storm one of Biden’s many vacation homes bought and paid for somehow by a lifetime of being a humble public servant? https://t.co/6qfXdxePll

Donald Trump Jr. blasted the report of the classified documents, comparing the media's treatment to his father and former President Donald Trump.
"When will the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team storm one of Biden’s many vacation homes bought and paid for somehow by a lifetime of being a humble public servant?" he tweeted.
The discovery of the documents is also likely to help Trump escape further litigation over his documents, as doing so would draw further attention to Biden's own stash of classified materials.
An NBC News report on Wednesday also noted an anonymous source who claimed a second batch of Biden classified documents has been discovered, though no other details have yet been provided.
Biden's situation has gone from bad to worse over the documents, as he now has to face one of Trump's own appointees in the aftermath of their discovery.
