Biden Joins Family For Beach Vacation, Appears To Be Completely Neglecting Presidential Duties

Amid ongoing presidential responsibilities, President Joe Biden was seen enjoying a day at the beach with family members in Rehoboth, Delaware.

The Daily Mail reported that Biden is on yet another vacation to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, amid speculation that he has completely left his presidential duties behind after turning over his campaign to Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden's public appearance on the beach came after he had stayed out of the spotlight for three days. This outing near his vacation home featured the President carrying a file folder, indicating ongoing official work, despite the casual setting.

Accompanied by the First Lady and her two sisters, as well as senior adviser Anthony Bernal, the group was sheltered under two blue umbrellas. Observers noted the casual recognition from passers-by as they enjoyed the beach.

Biden's interaction with everyday beachgoers did not disrupt his routine, as evidenced by the documents he carried, pointing to the continuity of presidential duties even while on vacation.

Continuation of Presidential Duties Amidst Rest

President Biden is reportedly remaining connected to global and national affairs but its likely that his communications are being handled by staffers.

This was highlighted by his recent communications with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reflecting ongoing international engagements.

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby elaborated on Biden’s commitment, stating, "The president is on vacation, but you can never unplug from a job like that. Nor does he try to." Kirby reinforced this by affirming that Biden is "very much in command."

This proactive approach to presidential responsibilities during leisure time underscores the White House's assertion that Biden can govern effectively from anywhere.

Biden's Itinerary and Upcoming Engagements

After spending the initial part of his vacation in California at a ranch, Biden moved to his Delaware residence.

His two-week vacation spans critical planning periods, as he is set to join Vice President Kamala Harris in Pittsburgh for a campaign event soon after his break.

Furthermore, Biden has planned a visit to Wisconsin to discuss his administration's efforts to reduce costs for everyday Americans.

Wisconsin's status as a key battleground state in the upcoming 2024 election highlights the importance of his visit.

President Biden articulated his focus post-vacation, stating, "Over the next six months, I'll be focused on doing my job as president." This statement came shortly after he announced the cessation of his campaign activities to concentrate more on presidential duties.

Biden's time spent in Delaware, totaling 328 days across 114 visits during his presidency, far exceeds former President Donald Trump, who spent 240 days in Florida or New Jersey at a similar point in his presidency.
