A Chinese business associate involved in the Biden family's dealings has been subpoenaed by the GOP-led Oversight Committee.
Mervyn Yan, a former top China Energy Co. official, was hit with a subpoena by Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY).

The details
"Comer has subpoenaed Yan for his role in the Biden family business with CEFC, an entity that had many deals with the Biden family," Breitbart News reported.
"In 2017, CEFC negotiated with the Bidens on a joint venture in which the “Big Guy” would receive a ten percent equity stake. In the same year, CEFC gave interest-free loans to the Biden family. Hunter also received a large diamond in 2017 from Ye worth an estimated $80,000," it added.

"Ranking Member Raskin has again disclosed Committee’s subpoenas in a cheap attempt to thwart cooperation from other witnesses," Comer said in a statement.
"Given his antics with the first bank subpoena, the American people and media should be asking what information Ranking Member Raskin is trying to hide this time," he added.

"Hunter Biden’s relationship with Yan was officially dissolved in 2018, but not before the two of them had a falling out," according to Red State.
"According to emails, Hunter Biden demanded lavish expenses be paid by the company while Yan objected, noting they had nothing to do with the company’s business. That included a house in Sweden, among other things," it added.
The latest subpoena also has Democrats upset over the ongoing expansion of the investigations.
Some leaders on the committee have argued that the GOP-led group is moving forward on subpoenas or witnesses without notifying them.
The argument is secondary, however, to discovering the truth behind Hunter Biden's relationships with international businesses during his father's years as vice president and beyond as the money trail has implications for his father's current role in the White House.
