Biden administration to resume deportation of illegal Venezuelan migrants

It looks like the Biden administration is finally coming around to admitting -- to some degree -- that it has lost complete control of the southern U.S. border.

At the same time that the administration announced that it would resume building border wall sections as required by appropriations from 2019 under former President Donald Trump, it announced that it would also resume direct deportation flights for Venezuelans who "do not establish a legal basis to remain" in the country after crossing illegally.

NBC News reported that the announcement came Thursday.

According to a senior administration official, Venezuela recently agreed to take back deported illegal border crossers, while adding a talking point to defend the decision.

"This also reflects a long-standing approach by the Biden-Harris administration that balances historic expansion of safe, orderly, lawful pathways with harsh consequences for those who seek to cross our border irregularly," the official reportedly said.

Many across social media, and any reasonable thinking person, pointed out that it's not a "long-standing approach," as the Biden administration has blocked the deportation efforts since he came into office.

Now that the situation is beyond controllable, the White House is clearly scrambling to do something to make the numbers less of a nightmare as Biden -- or whomever -- preps for the 2024 presidential trail.

"We have made a determination that it is safe to return Venezuelan nationals who have arrived in the United States subsequent to July 31 and do not have a legal basis to remain here," Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said at a recent press conference in Mexico.

NBC News noted:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Wednesday that in one day it had encountered 6,500 migrants from Venezuela, the most common nationality of migrants trying to cross the border.

As a point of comparison, the number of border crossers CBP encountered Wednesday was nearly 10,000 — more than 8,200 of whom crossed illegally — according to agency data.

The news comes at the same time that Biden seemingly reversed his stance on border wall construction. His actions were sharply criticized by Democrats, like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who believes border walls are "cruel."

On Thursday, she torched the president for the announcement.

The Biden-friendly mainstream media is working overtime to run cover for the White House as it panics and scrambles in an attempt to regain some level of control over the illegal alien invasion at the border.

It'll be interesting to see what else the administration does in an attempt to control the situation, now that more Americans than ever are watching.
