BBC presenter Lauren Laverne, known for her work on Radio 4's "Desert Island Discs," has disclosed that she is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. The 46-year-old host made the announcement through an emotional post on Instagram, where she revealed that the cancer was detected early and unexpectedly during a routine screening test.
Sky News reported that despite the diagnosis, Laverne is expected to make a full recovery, according to her medical team. Laverne is best known for hosting "Desert Island Discs," a role she took over in 2018 from Kirsty Young.
