Barron Trump has started his higher education journey at NYU Stern School of Business, opting for it over other notable institutions such as Wharton.
The Daily Mail reported that Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, was seen entering the New York University campus as the new academic term kicked off this Wednesday.
At 18 years old, having just graduated from the Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach in May, Barron is transitioning into college life in a familiar city.
NYU Stern School of Business, known for its stringent selection criteria, admits only about 5% of its applicants. The proximity of the university to Trump Tower, where Barron spent much of his childhood, played a part in his selection process.
Donald Trump shared that Barron had a wide range of options in terms of college. "He was accepted to a lot of colleges," he remarked, highlighting Barron's academic prowess. The decision to attend Stern over Wharton was influenced by the family's familiarity and fondness for NYU.
"We liked NYU. I've known NYU for a long time, but it's one of the highest-rated... I went to Wharton, and that was certainly one that we were considering. We didn't do that. We went for Stern," Trump explained in an interview with DailyMail.com.
Beyond academics, Barron plans to continue playing soccer, a sport he engaged in passionately during his high school years. He previously played for one of the youth teams of DC United, showcasing his athletic skills.
Donald Trump, reflecting on Barron's recent growth, stated, "He's a very high aptitude child, but he's no longer a child. He's just passed into something beyond child-dom. He's doing great." These words not only capture his academic abilities but also his evolving role within the Trump family.
Barron's understanding of Generation Z trends and figures has made him a valuable asset in connecting with younger voters, a point Donald Trump emphasized. "He knows so much about it," Trump said, referencing Barron's insights into youth culture and influencers.
His engagement with the Gen Z demographic was highlighted during a highly viewed livestream event at Mar-a-Lago, where he was a central figure.
This event garnered over 580,000 live viewers, becoming one of the year's top streams on the Kick platform.
Stern's reputation is bolstered by its list of notable alumni, including figures like Alan Greenspan and Kenneth Langone. This heritage of successful graduates likely played a role in Barron's decision to enroll at Stern.
"It's a very high-quality place. He liked it. He liked the school," Trump told DailyMail.com, affirming Barron's satisfaction with his choice. The future seems promising for Barron as he embarks on this new academic and personal development chapter at NYU.
