At least 37 shot between Friday and Sunday afternoon in Chicago

Forty individuals, including four fatalities, were shot over the weekend in Chicago, according to police.

Five people were shot early Sunday morning in West Garfield Park, according to Chicago police. A 40-year-old female victim was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at a hospital, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

The remaining four victims were transported to hospitals in fair condition. At approximately 2:00 a.m., in the 4000 block of West Washington Street, one of the victims reported being fired at by a person in a vehicle. No one is currently in custody.

A man was fatally shot shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday in the 1000-block of North California Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, according to police. No one is in custody, and detectives are conducting an investigation.

A man was shot while pedaling a bicycle in the Near North Side early on Sunday, according to police. The 29-year-old bicyclist was shot in the thigh and arm in the 600 block of West Scott Street at 12:15 a.m. and transported to a hospital in excellent condition. No one is currently in custody.

A man was slain in a shooting on Chicago's Southwest Side on Saturday afternoon, police said.

At approximately 5:18 p.m., a gunshot occurred in the 5000-block of South Talman Avenue in the Gage Park neighborhood. A 59-year-old man was near the alley when he was accosted by two individuals.

One of them drew a gun and fired at the man, striking him in the arm. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no suspects in custody, and local detectives are conducting an investigation.

Less than an hour ago, a teenager was wounded in Chicago Lawn, according to police. The 15-year-old was struck in the thigh while in an alley in the 6400 block of South Troy Street at approximately 4:35 p.m., according to Chicago police.

According to police, he was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stable. No one was detained.

Earlier that day, authorities said, an attempted robbery on Chicago's South Side resulted in gunfire. It occurred at 1:50 a.m. near West 110th Street and Western Avenue in Morgan Park. Someone attempted to rob a 22-year-old male at gunpoint, according to police.

According to police, when the victim refused to hand over their belongings, he was shot in the torso and the suspect fled. The victim was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. The police did not immediately provide additional details regarding the incident.

On the West Side of Chicago, a 17-year-old female was shot less than an hour later. At approximately 2:45 a.m., the gunshot occurred in the first block of South Spaulding Avenue in the Garfield Park neighborhood.

She informed police that she was struck twice by gunfire fired from a moving vehicle. The adolescent drove themselves to Mount Sinai Hospital. No one is in custody, and detectives from Area Four are conducting an investigation.

Last weekend, at least 27 were shot in the town, including five fatalities, according to police.
