AOC torches Biden for border wall reversal, calls it 'cruel' solution

President Joe Biden and his administration sparked intense backlash this week after revealing that it would waive 26 federal laws and use funds appropriated in 2019 to expand the border wall at the southern U.S. border.

According to The Hill, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) condemned the Biden administration for the announcement, claiming the administration has a choice to not follow through on border wall expansion.

AOC, a staunch pro-illegal immigration progressive, held nothing back as she admonished the elderly president over the upcoming action.

"The Biden administration was not required to expand construction of the border wall — and they certainly were not required to waive several environmental laws to expedite the building," she said in her statement.

She added, "The President needs to take responsibility for this decision and reverse the course."

Ocasio-Cortez believes that a border wall only worsens the illegal immigration situation, insisting that it forces them to go into more "remote" areas that places their lives in danger.

"A wall does nothing to deter people who are fleeing poverty and violence from coming to the United States," her statement read. "Walls only serve to push migrants into more remote areas, increasing their chances of death. It is a cruel policy."

Radical Democrats in Congress and in the White House always push the idea of "immigration reform" and investing in "high tech" solutions at the border, but never take action, and can't name more effective ways of preventing thousands of illegal aliens from pouring in under the Biden administration.

Many Democrats are furious at Biden's sudden -- and convenient -- reversal on the border wall situation, especially as he campaigned on the promise of not building another inch of wall under his presidency.

The Hill noted:

The waived environmental laws will expedite the construction of barriers in Starr County, Texas, which is a highly trafficked entry point along the southern U.S. border, the Department of Homeland Security noted. The Associated Press reported that roughly 245,000 migrants have illegally crossed the border there this fiscal year.

In a press conference Thursday, Biden defended the plans to add to the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. He insisted that he tried to get the funds reappropriated, but there was nothing he could do to stop it.

Hilariously, White House press secretary Karine Jean Pierre was bombarded with questions about Biden's reversal, and insisted that it has nothing to do with the absolute chaos happening at the border right now, and said instead, it's because the administration is "following the law."

When the new wall additions are added, it'll be interesting to see how Democrats react when the number of illegal crossers begins to lessen, as it undoubtedly will.
