The Disney family lost one of its legendary voice actors this week.
According to the Daily Caller, Ana Ofelia Murguía, the voice of Mama in Pixar’s 2017 film, "Coco," passed away at age 90.
Mexico’s National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature confirmed her death in a statement posted to social media.

The translated statement read:
"With deep sadness we regret the sensitive death of the first actress Ana Ofelia Murguía, who was part of the stable cast of the @CNTeatromx del #INBAL and whose artistic career was vital for the performing arts of Mexico. We send condolences and warm hugs to his family and friends."

The actress made her first television appearance in 1967, and went on to share her talents with the world over a decades-long career. She had well over 100 acting credits to her name, and accumulated fans across multiple generations, especially after her role in “Coco.”
The late actress also has credits in "Life Sentence," "Mi Querido Tom Mix" and "The Queen of the Night."

Among her numerous accolades, Murguía earned a Best Supporting Actress Ariel Award (Mexico’s equivalent of the Oscars) for “The Queen of the Night,” and snagged a special lifetime achievement Golden Ariel award in 2011, according to BBC.
Given her popularity, social media tributes poured in this week, with many remembering her for her most iconic roles.
"Today I learned Ana Ofelia Murguía passed away at the age of 90. I’ll always remember her for bringing great-grandmother Mama Coco to life and giving us one Pixar’s loveliest moments in doing so. Rewatching it again from here won’t be the same," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "My sincerest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues & fans of Ms. Ana Ofelia Murguía. Coco is one of my favorite movies. May she rest in peace."
The actress was known as one of Mexico's most popular. She won many awards over the duration of her career.
