Actress Shirley Anne Field, known for her role in "Alfie," has died at the age of 87.
The British film star's death was confirmed by BBC and shared in a statement by her family.

“It is with great sadness that we are sharing the news that Shirley Anne Field passed away peacefully on Sunday… surrounded by her family and friends,” the family said.
“Shirley Anne will be greatly missed and remembered for her unbreakable spirit and her amazing legacy spanning more than five decades on stage and screen," the statement added.

"The beloved British icon found fame as a model in the 1950s but rose to prominence as Tina Lapford opposite Laurence Olivier in The Entertainer in 1960," the Daily Mail reported.
"Subsequent roles followed through the sixties, such as Albert Finney's on-screen girlfriend Doreen in New Wave film Saturday Night And Sunday Morning, and Alfie opposite Michael Caine," it continued.
"And at the height of her success she reportedly enjoyed romances with Dudley Moore, Labour politician Anthony Crosland and photographer Terry O’Neill. She was even escorted to the Pigalle Club by one Frank Sinatra in 1958 - where she was introduced to Patricia Kennedy, sister of John F Kennedy and then-wife of actor Peter Lawford," the outlet explained.

"Shirley Anne married racing driver Charles Crichton-Stuart in 1967 and they had a daughter Nicola together," the Sun reported.
"The pair later divorced and Crichton-Stuart died in 2001," it noted. She published a memoir, A Time For Love, in 1991.
The popular actress also notably turned down roles in early James Bond films, noting that she had too much pride to take on the opportunity at the time.
Her family story also included meeting her mother later in life after they had been separated for decades after her mother left the U.K. and moved out of the country.
