In a striking revelation, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has publicly denounced a 2022 investigation by the Biden administration, known as the “Arctic Frost” probe, for allegedly targeting conservative figures, Breitbart reported.
Marshall, speaking on Fox Business Network, highlighted findings from the Senate Judiciary Committee that suggest the probe unfairly focused on conservatives, including the late Charlie Kirk, during a time of heightened violent crime.
The discussion took place during a segment of “Mornings with Maria” on Friday, where Marshall shared his concerns with host Maria Bartiromo.
Marshall, who served as chairman of the Republican Attorneys General Association in 2022, emphasized that he personally observed actions against conservatives during that period.
He pointed out that the timing of the “Arctic Frost” probe coincided with a surge in violent crime across the nation.
Instead of addressing public safety issues, Marshall claimed the administration directed its efforts toward Republican attorneys general, governors, and prominent conservative supporters.
Among those reportedly targeted were Charlie Kirk and the organization Turning Point, as well as other individuals linked to former President Donald Trump.
Marshall expressed frustration that resources were diverted from pressing issues like violent crime to scrutinize political opponents.
These findings were brought to light by Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, whom Marshall praised for exposing the issue.
During the segment, Marshall drew parallels to previous instances of alleged government overreach, citing the IRS actions against conservative groups during the Obama administration.
He also mentioned FBI investigations into parents at school board meetings and activities within the Catholic Church during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marshall suggested that these events indicate a recurring trend of federal agencies focusing on conservative individuals and organizations.
Host Maria Bartiromo noted a perceived double standard in media reactions, referencing the current outrage over the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s show while past actions against Republicans received less attention.
She directly addressed Marshall, saying, “AG, thanks so much for being here. This is unbelievable, particularly now to see all of this as the Democrats are losing their minds over the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s show, how quickly we forget what we’ve just done to Republicans.”
Marshall responded by acknowledging the disappointment but not the surprise at these developments, reinforcing his view on the continuity of such targeting from past administrations to the present.
