When it comes to late-night TV hosts, there is no worse case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) than Jimmy Kimmel.
The Kimmels recently revealed they told their son that it was Trump who had Kimmel suspended, even though it was a private company’s decision to pull Kimmel after his comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassin.
Now the family revealed that Kimmel’s wife has broken off contact with some family members who support Trump.
Kimmel was suspended after he made the claim that Kirk’s assassin was a MAGA supporter.
There was general outrage that freedom of speech was under assault, but that was hardly the case.
This was not a joke, as Kimmel was making the statement as a fact. Even after his statement was completely debunked, he refused to take it back.
The facts didn’t matter, however, as the entire left blamed the suspension on the Trump administration.
On a recent episode of “We Can Do Hard Things,” Kimmel revealed that he told his son it was Trump who had suspended him.
Kimmel’s wife said that their son asked them if the president had done this to his father. Kimmel responded, saying that he and his wife “looked at each other” and initially did not know how to answer the question.
His wife then responded, “We did. We actually both said yes at the exact same time. We said yes. He did.”
Well, no, he did not. The decision was made by management, and it was clear that they did not want Kimmel to misrepresent the facts on air. Again, this was not done in a “joke” scenario. It was just Kimmel having a horrible TDS episode.
I honestly cannot imagine someone being so obsessed with Trump that they would cut off family members, but that is what Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, just revealed. I also had not realized that she was the head writer and executive producer of his show, so now it all makes so much more sense.
Now we know his unhinged monologues are actually her words coming out of his mouth. To that point, she explained, “I’ve sent many emails to my family, like right before the election, saying, ‘I’m begging you. Here’s the 10 reasons not to vote for this guy. Please don’t.’ And I either got ignored by 90% of them or got truly insane response from a few.
“It hurts me so much because of the personal relationships I now have, where my husband is out there fighting this man, and to me, them voting for Trump is them not voting for my husband and me and our family. And I unfortunately have kind of lost relationships with people in my family because of it.”
This just reminds me of the teenage girl who does not like sports but becomes a rapid fan of the team because her crush is a fan. If you know Jimmy Kimmel’s history in the entertainment industry, this will make perfect sense.
