Dems' seek to replicate Trump’s crime crackdowns

When Trump announced the federalization of D.C., Democrats just about lost their minds.

A few weeks in, the crackdown is working, with carjackings down a shocking 87%.

While Dems continue to rail against Trump, they are simultaneously using his strategy in their own cities and states.

Reversal

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, at first, welcomed Trump’s help. It was only after Democrats got in her ear that she called the president an authoritarian.

Before that, Bowser admitted there were still very troublesome pockets in her city, and she would use the extra resources to address them.

Bowser held a press conference this week to announce that Trump’s plan is working, stating, "This is what we think in just a couple of weeks of experience has worked. Having more federal law enforcement officers on the street -- we think having more stops that got to illegal guns has helped."

She continued, “We think that there is more accountability in the system, or at least perceived accountability in the system, that is driving down illegal behavior. We know that we have had fewer gun crimes, fewer homicides, and we have experienced an extreme reduction in carjackings."

Copycat

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is about to do something similar in the Big Apple.

Reports broke this week that Adams plans to flood his streets with 1,000 police officers in the Bronx after seeing a shooting surge in the city.

He is also reportedly going to invite local gang leaders to his home to discuss making peace with each other.

Adams stated, "We have 1,000 more officers that are going to be deployed in the Bronx to assist with Chief [Benjamin] Gurley and assisting other personnel.” He continued, “We’ve actually looked all over the city… we’ve gotten officers from behind the desk to be out this weekend and we want to make sure we have the right deployment to deal with this violence.”

Newsom imitates Trump

Part of the rise in California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s profile as of late has been his mimicking of Trump’s Truth Social account, but now he is copying the president in a different way.

While whining to the media about the federal takeover in D.C., Newsom is reportedly employing a similar strategy in California to high crime areas.

Newsom stated, "While the Trump administration undermines cities, California is partnering with them and delivering real results. With these new deployments, we’re doubling down on these partnerships to build on progress and keep driving crime down.”

The White House responded, "After Newscum spent weeks criticizing the president’s highly successful efforts to crack down on crime, he’s reverted to his tried-and-true strategy: embracing and copying the Trump agenda." The nickname is childish, but the point is dead on.
