I have to hand it to Democrats… they are setting a new bar for ridiculous things to be upset about. The latest: a fishing outing with JD Vance and the British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
The two men were picturing putting their lines in the water at Lammy’s property, so Dems attacked Vance because he reportedly did not have the proper fishing license!
During the 2024 campaign, Democrats seemed to think that calling Vance weird would be enough to get voters to turn against him.
It was an odd strategy, and it obviously did not work.
The more humorous attack on this front was by Governor Tim Walz, Harris’ VP choice, who is no prize.
When he bought into the narrative, even some members of the media shook their heads and questioned how Democrats thought this was a good line of attack rather than going after policy.
Vance recently took a trip to Disney after the election to spend some time with his children after the election.
Of course, Democrats are so obsessed with him, they attacked him for this after Biden spent about 35% of his entire term on vacation.
Governor Newsom joined in, posting, “Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t.”
This resulted in Vance being confronted at the park, right in front of his children, as Democrats seem to have no boundaries these days.
When Vance and Lammy were fishing, it was apparently against UK laws. Even though this was Lammy’s property, they were required to have a license to fish, so Dems went on the attack as if Vance had robbed a bank.
The DNC posted, "VACATION VANCE AT IT AGAIN: Vance Fished ‘Illegally’ With UK Foreign Secretary While Americans Drown in Sky-High Costs." The Democrats further stated, "Vance is living it up on his summer holiday -- on the taxpayers’ dime -- all while working families face sky-high inflation and the largest cuts to health care and food assistance in American history."
Kiersten Pels, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, responded, "The DNC's donors are OK with funding press releases on a fishing rod license? They might want to pull their money out now before the last of it vanishes down the drain."
This is what Democrats are choosing to fight back with, with the clear hypocrisy being that the entire party said nothing about all of Joe’s little trips. Not to mention, this was a diplomatic trip, not a vacation, so, as usual, Democrats got it all wrong.
