New book reveals why Harris tapped Walz over Shapiro for VP

When Kamala Harris was gifted the nomination by the Democrats, I thought for sure she was going to pick PA Governor Josh Shapiro as her VP. I still believe that had she done that, she would have likely won PA and MI, and while I still don’t think she would have won the election, it would have been much closer.

The far left erupted, however, and Harris caved, tapping MN Governor Tim Walz instead, and now we are learning why.

The Shapiro outrage

The new Democrats, and by that I mean the younger Democrats, do not like Israel, as they have made quite clear in protests around this nation.

When word started to travel that Shapiro, a Jew, could be on the ticket, there was significant pushback on the selection.

One progressive organization wrote to Harris, believing that Shapiro had “shortcomings as a national candidate,” suggesting Walz and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear instead.

The letter concluded, “With the compressed timeline ahead of us to defeat the Trump-Vance-MAGA threat, we simply cannot afford any setbacks.”

Harris Announces Walz

In early August, Harris finally made her choice.

She announced Walz, stating, “As a governor, a coach, a teacher and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his.”

She added, “We start out as underdogs. But I believe together, we can win this election.”

Harris was actually spotted with a rather significant lead after she got the nomination, but she crashed and burned over the last month, and Walz surely played a role in that, so I have to question if Harris had him fully vetted.

My gut

According to the latest tell-all election book, "2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America," Harris had it down to Walz, Shapiro, and Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ).

The book claims that Harris’ advisers were pushing for Walz, as well as Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) giving him the nod, proving once again that she has not given up her grip on the party. The book stated, "Pelosi privately pushed for him too, because she’d worked with him in Congress.

"The pitch for Walz was straightforward: He could appeal to white voters across the Blue Wall states (Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania) and hopefully help Harris with male voters. He’d never lost an election."

This was about pacifying the far left in the party, and nothing else. The Democrat Party is terrified of this new progressive wing, and we need look no further than how the entire party is caving to Mamdani in New York. In their quest to gain power, they are losing the mission of our Founders and Framers. We simply cannot allow them to succeed.
