Trump trolls Schumer after hits against BBB

There is surely no love lost between Donald Trump and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Schumer has fired shot after shot at Trump, and Trump has returned them in kind.

The latest round, it would appear, is solidly in Trump’s favor.

Let’s Not Forget

Before I get into this battle, we have to go back to the tricks Schumer pulled when Biden was in office and the Democrats had the majority, thanks to Independents caucusing with them.

Biden forced through several pieces of legislation, including the Inflation Reduction Act, via reconciliation.

The bill was packed with fat, as well as funneling billions to leftist projects and green energy.

Schumer was happy to do it, but now his tone has changed that the Republicans are playing the same game.

Bait and Switch

Schumer is not only livid about the BBB being passed, but he is also upset that the GOP is putting through a rescissions package to cut spending from previously passed legislation.

This is the only way to legally pull back spending that was passed by Congress and signed off on by a sitting president. Schumer stated, "Republicans’ passage of this purely partisan proposal would be an affront to the bipartisan appropriations process.”

He continued, "That’s why a number of Senate Republicans know it is absurd for them to expect Democrats to act as business as usual and engage in a bipartisan appropriations process to fund the government, while they concurrently plot to pass a purely partisan rescissions bill to defund those same programs negotiated on a bipartisan basis behind the scenes.”

Bipartisan appropriations process? You mean the process when Democrats pushed through all this spending without any support from the GOP? How is that bipartisan?

Palestinian Senator

I have always marveled at how anti-Israel both Senators Schumer and Sanders (I-VT) are, and they don’t even try to hide it.

To that point, Trump went after Schumer, stating, “I saw a Palestinian senator, his name is Schumer. He’s a great Palestinian. He’s become a Palestinian, he has abandoned the Jews.”

Trump then Schumer for trying to blame the Texas floods on him, stating, “I actually saw that stupid guy try and blame [the Texas flooding] on me, and I said, ‘Man, that’s a tough one to take. ’But his career is limited because I hear AOC is gonna beat him. And she’s no bargain, either, by the way.”

AOC has not announced a run at Schumer’s seat, and I doubt that she will. I expect she will not want to risk losing her automatic paycheck in the House, and wait for Schumer to retire before making a move to the Senate. Having said that, polling right now actually puts her ahead of Schumer, so you never know… maybe Trump has a crystal ball.
