Trump mocks new leadership in the Democrat Party

Donald Trump is basking in his victories right now, and he has once again put his troll hat on to take down Democrats.

After socialist Zohran Mamdani defeated Andrew Cuomo in the New York City Democrat Mayor primary race, Trump dropped a championship troll, calling out the party’s new leadership.

I concede

The disgraced former governor of New York had the backing of just about every establishment politician in the Democrat Party.

Bill Clinton even dusted himself off to help Cuomo, who had fallen behind Mamdani late in the election season.

None of it worked, however, as Mamdani comfortably took the election, largely on the strength of winning the white and Asian vote.

Cuomo was very brief in his concession, stating, "Tonight is his night. He deserved it. He won."

Trump mocks Democrats

It took Trump about five seconds to load up a hit piece on Truth Social to go after Democrats for allowing a true socialist to win an election.

Trump posted, "After years of being left out in the cold, including suffering one of the Greatest Losses in History, the 2024 Presidential Election, the Democrats should nominate Low IQ Candidate, Jasmine Crockett, for President, and AOC+3 should be, respectively, Vice President, and three High Level Members of the Cabinet – Added together with our future Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, and our Country is really SCREWED!"

In a separate post, Trump wrote, "It’s finally happened, the Democrats have crossed the line. Zohran Mamdani, a 100% Communist Lunatic, has just won the Dem Primary, and is on his way to becoming Mayor."

I doubt anyone thought Cuomo would lose with the support he had, but realistically, this race was not even close. And if Mamdani wins the general election, that city will be bankrupt in no time at all.

The meltdown

As I noted at the top of this report, the entire Democrat establishment had swooped in to support Cuomo, so the meltdown is real in terms of the fear of a changing direction within the party. Socialism is a fairly radical change, even from the freebie philosophy most Democrats today support, so they all know they are in big trouble.

The establishment is now panicking and trying to figure out what it will do. For example, both Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) offered their congratulations, but neither of them endorsed their Democrat primary winner.

One possible gubernatorial candidate said he would not run if Mamdani won, and Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) refused to comment on the win. Lis Smith, a longtime Democrat operative, observed, "The full-on freakout by the establishment is entirely predictable — they do no introspection or soul searching, and instead just lash out.”

Meanwhile, AOC is beside herself thinking that this is the wave that flips the party in her favor and possibly gives her a boost in terms of her 2028 ambitions. As a Texan, I have the luxury of sitting back and watching this all play out with no direct repercussions (at least not yet), but I have to admit, in terms of the future, this is a pretty scary outcome.
