Donald Trump has been touting a third term as president for years, and now that he has been elected, he has continued to push the idea up until recently.
Trump recently backed off that narrative, but Hillary Clinton is now suggesting that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, or Barack Obama could run for a third term as well.

As recently as March, Trump had reiterated his intention to run again after this term, stating that he was not joking.
NBC News was interviewing Trump, when he assured host Kristen Welker that he was “not joking” about running.
Trump later added, “A lot of people want me to do it. But we have — my thinking is, we have a long way to go. I’m focused on the current.”
I believe someone finally got in Trump’s ear about this narrative, so, in early May, Trump backed off that narrative.
Ironically, Trump shut down the narrative with another interview with NBC News and Kristen Welker.
Trump stated, “I’ll be an eight-year president; I’ll be a two-term president. I always thought that was very important.
“It’s something that, to the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed to do. I don’t know if that’s constitutional that they’re not allowing you to do it or anything else.”
Democrats were outraged when Trump suggested that he would run for a third term, but now Hillary is making the same claim for Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
During a recent interview, she stated, "When he says, ‘You know, there are people who think that it could happen,’ what he's saying is he has people right now in these right-wing think tanks trying to figure out how to make it happen. And he also has very militant supporters who believe that it should happen, so if it can't happen legally that is not an obstacle."
She then added, "I think you have to take all of it seriously. The best response might be for, you know, Barack and Bill to run too. I mean, OK, take your choice! Who do you want for a third term, people? If this is where we're heading, we're going to break the Constitution, give people a choice!"
Now, I have pushed back on the idea of a third term right from the start, yet now we have Democrats embracing the idea. I was elated when Trump finally backed down off this narrative, and that should have put it to bed, yet here is Hillary bringing it back up because you know Democrats would love to have the option of running Barack Obama out there one more time.
