Renowned DJ Jackmaster Tragically Passes Away at 38 Due to Accidental Head Injury

Jack Revill, known globally in the music scene as DJ Jackmaster, died on October 12, at age 38 in Ibiza, from complications associated with an accidental head injury.

The Independent reported that his passing has left a void in the electronic music community, where he was celebrated for his innovative style and influential role in promoting new talent.

Revill was recognized for his distinctive ability to blend different music genres seamlessly during his performances.

This talent garnered him an international reputation as a leading force in electronic music. Beyond his dynamic sets, he was a co-founder of Numbers, a record label and club night that emerged as a key player in discovering and advocating for avant-garde artists.

His early connections with Rubadub Records in Glasgow also cemented his status as an influential supporter of the electronic music scene.

Family Mourns the Loss of a Music Pioneer

In a statement released on his Instagram, his family – Kate, Sean, and Johnny – expressed their deep sorrow over his sudden passing and requested privacy during their period of mourning.

The statement described Revill as someone with a deep passion for music and a relentless drive to push creative boundaries, marking his significant impact on the industry.

Revill's career achievements were not without recognition. In 2010, DJ Magazine honored him with the Breakthrough DJ award at its Best of British Awards, acknowledging his contributions to the genre and cementing his position in the realm of pioneering DJs. He was a revered figure among peers and fans alike, known for his eclectic music tastes and genre-defying performances.

Despite his successful career, Jackmaster faced a significant professional and personal challenge in 2018. During the Love Saves The Day Festival in Bristol, he was involved in a controversial incident of sexual misconduct.

Revill later admitted to attempting to kiss and grab individuals against their will during a period of substance abuse involving GHB. Expressing his deep shame and regret, he took full responsibility without offering his substance abuse as an excuse.

Following this incident, Jackmaster committed to resolving his personal issues head-on. He actively spoke with individuals affected by his actions and undertook changes in his lifestyle to prevent future indiscretions. This resolution demonstrated his dedication to personal growth and accountability.
