Over 20 Republicans sided with Democrats to end efforts to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) over antisemitism.
The resolution was introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene following Tlaib's remarks that appeared to justify attacks by Hamas on Israel.

"The House did not end up voting on the legislation after 22 Republicans voted with Democrats on a motion to table the vote," the Daily Caller reported.
"13 Republicans did note vote. The vote was 222-186. After the vote, Rep. Van Orden changed his vote to no," it added.

"Several Democrats predicted a censure resolution would be forthcoming shortly after the House elected a new speaker, with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) brushing it off as a political distraction," the Washington Examiner reported.
"With all the challenges we are facing right now, House Republicans are racing to once again list up something that Marjorie Taylor Greene is doing, which tells us that their focus continues to be in the wrong place," he said.
The latest move to censure Tlaib came after her remarks blaming Israel for bombing a hospital in Gaza even after evidence showed that the blast was from a terrorist inside Gaza. The blast landed in the parking lot, not in the hospital, killing less than 50 people.
Tlaib continued to blame Israel for blowing up hundreds of children. She later refused to discuss the issue with reporters who questioned her claims.
The congresswoman's longstanding words and actions critical of Israel and Jewish people nearly led to a censure in this case. However, the actions of some Republicans along with Democrats failed to move forward to give any consequences for her actions in the damaging claims she has made related to war in Israel.
