WSJ takes aim directly at Biden admin, blames it for baby formula shortage

While President Joe Biden, the White House, and his allies in Congress continue to push the blame on everyone else for the myriad crises facing America at the current moment, mainstream media organizations are fighting back.

According to Breitbart, The Wall Street Journal took aim at the Biden administration over the terrifying shortage of critical baby formulas, which haven’t been on store shelves in many states for weeks. The Journal slammed the White House, insisting that the president and his haphazard policies were the direct cause of the unprecedented shortage.

“The shortage began after Abbott Laboratories shut down a plant in Michigan after four infants who consumed formula made at the facility fell seriously ill. Abbott controls about 42 percent of the U.S. market, and the other three large manufacturers (Perrigo, Nestle and Mead Johnson) haven’t been able to increase production fast enough to compensate. Ergo, empty shelves,” the outlet reported.

The WSJ editorial board went into great detail as to why it believes Biden’s decisions, and too much Democratic regulatory red tape, caused a series of unfortunate effects that led to the supply of certain formulas going dry.

The outlet added: “Enter President Biden, who on Wednesday invoked the Defense Production Act. The Cold War-era law lets the federal government conscript private businesses to produce goods for national defense and to reorder supply chains, putting some customers ahead of others. Progressives think government is the solution to every problem, which is why the law has become their household remedy to every product shortage.”

“Mr. Biden says the law will let his Administration prioritize raw ingredients for baby formula. He also plans to send government planes to fly in supply from overseas. But there doesn’t appear to be a shortage of formula ingredients. Nor is there a problem transporting it. The main barriers to increasing supply are regulatory.”

As of the weekend, military flights had been scheduled to bring in hundreds of pallets of baby formula from Germany, with the Biden administration acting as if it solved the problem, rather than created it in the first place.

With the way Democrats and the Biden administration are handling top issues, baby formula isn’t likely to be the first critical item we run out of this year.
