Actor Will Smith made headlines when he crashed the stage at the Oscars and punched Comedian Chris Rock in the face during the Oscar’s presentation.

One Twitter user clarified the reason for Will’s frustration saying, “for anyone confused about why will was angry (not saying i condone assault), jada pinkett smith suffers from Alopecia, a balding disease that is especially common amongst black women.”
“Chris rock compared Jada to gi jane aka the movie where Demi Moore shaves her head.”

According to People, Pinkett Smith has been open about her battle with Alopecia, which is a condition that causes sporadic, random and sometimes permanent baldness in both men and women.
Pinkett Smith, who is 50, revealed publicly that she had the condition in 2018 on her Red Table Talk series and when the joke was made she rolled her eyes at the comedian’s crack.
“A lot of people have been asking why I’ve been wearing turbans. Well, I haven’t talked about it. It’s not easy to talk about, but I am going to talk about it,” she shared in 2018
The actress said it “was terrifying” to deal with when it first started.
“I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, ‘Oh my God, am I going bald?'” she added. “It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That’s why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it.”
