President Joe Biden does not plan to hand down any notices of termination for his generals or others involved in his recent military decision-making, according to Breitbart News.
The publication reported Friday that Biden’s communications officers told reporters he doesn’t feel the need to fire anyone, including Secretary of State Tony Blinken after the administration’s Afghanistan decisions turned deadly.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said during the Friday press briefing that ““Yes, [Biden] does,” still have confidence in Blinken.
This question after two House Republicans introduced articles of impeachment against the current Secretary of State, citing a failure to properly execute his job:
Rep Ralph Norman, (R-SC), and Rep Andy Harris (R-MD) said in their impeachment articles that Blinkon “failed to faithfully uphold his oath,”
The secretary of state “instead presided over a reckless abandonment of our nation’s interests, security, and values in his role in the withdrawal of American forces and diplomatic assets from Afghanistan,” according to the lawmakers.
When asked to comment on the potential impeachment of the secretary of state, Psaki seemingly insensitive fell back on the deaths of the American servicemen in her flatly offensive response “I have no response on a day where we are still honoring the lives of men and women in the military who were lost yesterday,” she said.
One reporter pointedly asked, “Does [Biden] believe he was given bad advice, and will he ask for any resignations of his generals, given the high cost of American and Afghan lives?”
According to the White House Press Secretary, “Losing members of your men and women working for you from the service branches is devastating” but she gave no indication that it was a devastation that would be met with action.
