White House press secretary Jen Psaki gives last press briefing, moving on to MSNBC

White House press secretary Jen Psaki has served President Joe Biden well. However, she is moving on to greener pastures to spew her provocations and prevarications elsewhere.

Psaki gave her last White House press briefing Friday after announcing she’d be stepping down from the role, The Hill reported. Though she has not said so publicly, Psaki likely took a new position in the private sector media at MSNBC.

The press secretary became emotional at times as she delivered her farewell remarks. Psaki took the opportunity to thank the president and his wife, first lady Jill Biden, for the opportunity.

Psaki had kind words for her colleagues as well. “They are incredibly tough, smart, hardworking, and deeply, deeply good human beings,” she said.

“People always ask me … whether Washington is rotten, whether everyone is corrupt here and nothing good happens and we all just argue with each other,” Psaki said.  “I, having done this job, believe the absolute opposite is true.”

Though Psaki has mostly fielded softball questions from the press — with the exception of Fox News’s Peter Doocy, with whom she often sparred — she thanked the press for their role nonetheless. “You have challenged me, you have pushed me, you have debated me, and at times we have disagreed,” she said.

“That is democracy in action,” Psaki proclaimed. “Without accountability, without debate, government is not as strong.”

Karine Jean-Pierre, who was the principal deputy press secretary, will take over for Psaki. This move has been celebrated as Jean-Pierre is the first openly homosexual woman to fill the role.

The pipeline from Democratic administrations to leftist media outlets is a well-established one in Washington, D.C. Psaki has deftly parlayed this work for a new gig and is certainly well-qualified after spending the last 16 months being a mouthpiece for Biden and his disastrous policies. Perhaps she will continue doing just that for MSNBC.
