The White House has reiterated its confidence that President Joe Biden will run for reelection in 2024 despite his advanced age and damaging economic record.
According to a report by Breitbart News, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre spoke to the issue on social media recently, confirming the president’s plans for the future.
To be clear, as the President has said repeatedly, he plans to run in 2024.

Earlier in the day Monday, Jean-Pierre spoke to journalists about the president’s plans but primarily pushed off giving specific answers by alluding to the Hatch act preventing her:
“I cannot talk about elections, I cannot be a political analyst from here, or the midterms or anything like that, including 2024,” she said during the White House press briefing when asked by a reporter about Biden’s political future.
Jean-Pierre pointed out that Biden had previously responded affirmatively to the issue of whether he was running for reelection: “I can’t say more than that,” she replied.
Biden and his allies have consistently defended Biden, claiming that he is the only Democrat capable of defeating former President Donald Trump in a rematch. However, Democrats are anxious about the president’s low support ratings and frequent gaffes as he leads the party into the next election.
Should the president follow through on his plan he would be 86 by the end of his second term and even more liberal publications such as the New York Times and Axios made speculations about concerns growing concerns among Democrats over the president’s age ad political future.
Biden previously laughed off questions about running for reelection during a press conference in March 2021, saying, “The answer is yes,” Biden said. “My plan is to run for reelection. That’s my expectation,” making a similar statement in December of the same year during an interview with ABC News.
