White House climate adviser Gina McCarthy resigning next month

President Joe Biden is not popular with anyone these days, including his own staffers. Despite his leftist bent on every issue, including climate change, Biden can’t seem to get enough done.

Gina McCarthy will reportedly resign from her post as White House climate adviser as early as next month, Fox News reported. McCarthy has been in the position for a little more than a year.

Neither McCarthy nor the White House has yet to make any formal announcement. “Gina and her entire team continue to be laser-focused on delivering on President Biden’s clean energy agenda,” White House spokesman Vedant Patel assured Fox News.

“Reports that I have resigned from my position as President Biden’s National Climate Advisor are simply inaccurate,” McCarthy tweeted Thursday to dispel rumors. “We’ve made great progress these past 14 months, but we have much more work to do — and I remain excited about the opportunities ahead.”

Some speculate that McCarthy may be getting frustrated with Biden’s lack of clout on passing meaningful climate change legislation except for undoing some of his predecessor’s moves away from restrictions. Despite having a majority in the House of Representatives and the tie-breaker vote in the Senate, Biden has been thwarted by members of his party like Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV).

McCarthy previously served under former President Barack Obama in the Environmental Protection Agency. She was grilled following the 2016 disaster to the water supply in Flint, Michigan, the Washington Post reported.

Authorities had decided to use the Flint River for the municipal water supply rather than the previously utilized Lake Huron source. The city failed to add adequate anti-corrosive chemicals, thereby allowing lead and other toxins to leach from old pipes into drinking water — and McCarthy’s EPA was slow too slow to respond.

Biden is having trouble keeping anyone happy, whether it’s voters or members of his own administration. McCarthy’s departure marks another failure, though her absence is no big loss to the American people considering her mishandling of the tainted water crisis in Flint.
