In an embarrassing revelation of where the priorities this country’s Democrats truly lie, on a day when 13 U.S. service members and a staggering number of Afghan women and children were killed or injured as a result of President Joe Biden’s devastating decisions affecting that region, both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the White House took time to offer ultra-woke proclamations heralding “Women’s Equality Day,” as Breitbart reports.
The tone-deaf celebrations of the so-called holiday, designed to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment granting suffrage to women, seemed staggeringly ill-timed, given the subjugation and terror awaiting females in Afghanistan now that the Taliban has seized control of the country due to Biden’s hasty and stubborn determination to withdraw U.S. troops by Aug. 31 regardless of conditions on the ground.
Biden, for his part, issued a statement saying, “My administration is committed to bearing out the promise of the suffragists, who understood that for women to attain true equality in our country, they must have an equal place at the ballot box,” adding, “This is true abroad, too, where we are committed to strengthening women’s political participation and leadership around the world,” an assertion that seems curious in light of recent developments in Afghanistan.
Pelosi, who remained mum on the bloody attack in Kabul, took to social media and also issued a formal statement to gush approvingly about Women’s Equality Day, applauding the fact that “Americans take time to honor these heroes, whose tireless struggle moved our nation closer toward our founding promise of full equality for all.”
Sidestepping the matter of the oppression and unspeakable violence poised to befall millions of women in Afghanistan in the immediate future at the hands of the Taliban, Pelosi instead railed against Republican-backed voter integrity bills designed to prevent widespread fraud in American elections and used the occasion to tout her party’s plans for billions of dollars in new social spending.
In another egregious and exceedingly ill-timed display of dangerously misguided administration priorities, on the same day American troops were being killed by a terrorist attack in Kabul, Sergeant Major of the Army, Michael Grinston, posted a tweet on the topic of Women’s Equality Day, trumpeting the importance of diversity in the armed forces, as the Daily Mail noted.
Diversity is a number – do you have people that don’t look or think like you in the room? Inclusion is listening and valuing those people. #WomensEqualityDay reminds us we’re smarter and more lethal when we come together as an inclusive, cohesive team. Our values demand it. pic.twitter.com/b72l2EcIn0

However, it was not long before the exasperated Twitterverse erupted over the inanity of the post, particularly in light of what was happening in Afghanistan that very same day, with platform user @CoachGlenn40 asking pointedly, “How diverse were the victims of the explosion at the airport in Kabul?”
Twitter user @MR offal encapsulated the sentiment felt by millions of Americans amid Thursday’s tragedy, declaring, “…our military should be 100% focused on evacuating US citizens from Afghanistan and ensuring the safety of Americans everywhere. This ‘woke’ $h!t doesn’t matter right now!”
