The White House struggled to explain why President Joe Biden was asking for the late Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN), who passed away last month in a car accident.
Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed the mixup was because she was "top of mind" and was supposed to be featured in a tribute later in the meeting.

"She was on his mind, she was top of mind for the president," she told reporters Wednesday. "He looks very much forward to discussing her service with them when he sees her family this coming Friday."
Jean-Pierre offered no other explanation or apology to the late congresswoman's family.

The concerning video of the president trying to give a shout-out to Walorski a month after her death was one of the top cringe moments of the Biden presidency.
The White House may not be one to admit it, but the moment was also one that people will look to as evidence that Biden may not be fully up to the job of leading the nation as Democrats are already discussing alternative candidates for 2024.
