White House attempts to downplay damaging 'Twitter Files' revelations

The White House isn't convinced that Elon Musk's "Twitter Files" document release is relevant news, the Washington Examiner reported.

Musk sent shockwaves through politics and media last week when he came through on his vow to expose the shady undertakings by Twitter's previous management in their efforts to censor the bombshell political scandal involving Hunter Biden's laptop right before the 2020 election.

The documents revealed much more, with even more to come down the road, but White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was questioned about the files this week and, well, she wasn't impressed.

She essentially wrote off the bombshell revelation as "old news" and a "distraction."

What did she say?

KJP and the White House are clearly on the defensive, as they were just publicly outed for having colluded with Twitter to censor opinions and people they didn't like, which undoubtedly helped then-candidate Joe Biden win the 2020 election.

"We see this as an interesting — or a coincidence, if I may — that he would so haphazardly, that Twitter would so haphazardly push this distraction, that is full of old news, if you think about it," KJP said to a reporter who asked her about the White House's position on the "Twitter Files."

She added, "At the same time, Twitter is facing very real and very serious questions about the rising volume of anger, hate, and antisemitism on their platform."

Of course, that's blatantly false, and Musk proved that by revealing several charts that show such language and content have drastically been reduced under his ownership.

For KJP and the White House to play coy with the subject is all the proof one needs to know that their proverbial backs are against the wall.

What's in the files?

The Examiner noted: "The Twitter communications, shared as part of Musk's promise to increase the social media platform's transparency, show Biden and Democratic National Committee aides had flagged laptop-related content with executives based on concerns material had been hacked. Republican operatives have done the same in the past, but Taibbi contended they experienced less success given the politics of many of the company's staff."

Musk charged independent Substack journalist Matt Taibbi with reporting on findings in the document dump, which number in the thousands and is expected to take weeks to uncover.

So far, it appears that Twitter was used as an anti-free speech weapon by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

Several examples were provided of instances where Democratic operatives would email their contacts at Twitter to have posts that didn't match the preferred narrative either suppressed, censored, or completely erased from existence.

House Republicans have vowed to open investigations into the Twitter employees involved in the blatant free speech suppression practices.
