WATCH: Migrants released into Texas border towns

Authorities released hundreds of migrants into Brownsville, Texas, in an incident captured on video as Title 42 expires.

The footage captured by Breitbart Texas noted that buses arrived approximately every 30 minutes to drop off migrants at a station on the way to their final destination.

The situation

"The release of the migrants comes just hours before the Biden administration will end Title 42 removals — a move that is expected to cause a spike in irregular migration as thousands of migrants continue to make their way north through Mexico," Breitbart reported.

"In just the past three days, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended more than 9,000 migrants in the past three days, Breitbart Texas reported on Thursday. Nearly 3,000 were apprehended on Wednesday alone. These contributed to the nearly 31,000 migrants apprehended along the entire southwest border during the three-day period ending Wednesday," it added.

The crisis

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz traveled to the southern border as the COVID-19 era policy expired.

"We already have the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country & it’s about to get worse," he tweeted.

"Biden needs to stop hiding in the basement and go see this humanitarian crisis," he added.

"With fewer than eight hours remaining before the expiration of Title 42, the United States House of Representatives passed H.R. 2, the 'Secure the Border Act,' by a vote of 219 to 213 — another significant legislative win for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy," Townhall reported.

"All Democrats voted against the legislation, as did two House Republicans: Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and John Duarte (R-CA)," it added.

The Senate is unlikely to pass the bill, with Democrats continuing to hold the vote to stop it from moving forward. Even if it did, the bill would be vetoed by the president.

The situation is expected to grow worse as Title 42 is now over, with thousands more migrants crossing the border daily into the U.S.
