Vice President Kamala Harris couldn't be bothered to lift a finger to use her influence and resources to help control the illegal immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border, but when it comes to exploiting children who were killed in a school shooting, she was practically on the first flight to Tennessee.
According to Breitbart, during a speech at Nashville’s Fisk University, just weeks after a deranged transgender former student murdered three children and three staffers, Harris touted the same tired, ineffective, and frankly, stupid courses of action Democrats always spew after a school shooting.
"Let's not fall for the false choice which suggests you are either in favor of the 2nd amendment, or you want gun safety laws," said Harris. "We can and should do both."
That was one of a long list of lies and disinformation the vice president regurgitated at the university, calling for red flag laws, tighter background checks, and an "assault weapons" ban.
Breitbart noted:
C-SPAN aired her comments in which she referenced the Christian school shooting numerous times but never mentioned that the shooter was a 28-year-old transgender person.
"When we know, and when a community or family knows, shouldn’t we listen?" Harris said.
Breitbart tore apart that particular statement, writing:
Harris omitted Metropolitan Nashville Police Department chief John Drake’s admission that the 28-year-old was not on police radar. And the transgender shooter’s parents did not know she had a gun; they knew she had one once, but they thought she sold it.
The outlet also added, "Harris also omitted any mention of the fact that the Christian school shooter got her guns legally, which entails passing background checks."
In other words, while the left continues to push their faulty and dangerous narrative, which would have little to no effect on future mass shootings, the Nashville shooting once again proved that it's not the laws or the gun that commits the crime, it's the deranged individual(s).
It should also be noted that the shooter apparently had an AR-15-style rifle, but actually used a 9mm carbine to commit the murders. That didn't stop Harris from using the same, tired and false line that AR-15s are "weapons of war designed to kill a lot of people."
She also failed to mention the number of mass shootings that have taken place with a perpetrator using handguns, but that would interrupt the "weapons of war" narrative, so it's always left out of the conversation.
What America needs is better-administered and available mental health care for people like the Nashville shooter who are obviously deranged and extremely mentally unwell. Armed guards at schools are also highly favored by parents who actually want their children to stand a chance at surviving a school shooting.
It's difficult to imagine that Democrats would automatically politicize such events, as most of them have children as well.
Why don't Democrats want to enact actual common-sense initiatives that could go a long way in mitigating the number of deranged people doing terrible things to children? It just doesn't make any sense.
