Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told media on Thursday that President Joe Biden did not have good contact with him until after Russia’s invasion began.
Zelenskyy shared the information as he continued to call on the U.S. and European leaders to enact a no-fly zone over Ukraine to stop Russia’s airstrikes.

As the nation enters the ninth day of attacks from Russia, airstrikes have increased, destroying cities and killing Ukraine’s people. Sanctions have done little to stop the actions.
“We have good contact. I can tell you the truth. It’s a pity it began after the beginning of this war, but we have it. My appreciation to him and to his team,” Zelenskyy said.

The new reveal also shows Biden and his team were once again unprepared for Russia’s actions against Ukraine.
Though behind, the U.S. can do more to help as Ukrainians face a much larger enemy seeking to take over their nation.
