Trump’s claims of voter fraud still stand as 2022 midterms draw closer

A lack of smoking-gun evidence does not mean an assertion is untrue. Instead, it just means that a fact might be unprovable at the moment.

Former President Donald Trump made several claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election that have yet to pan out, the Washington Post reported. However, that doesn’t stop the speculation from persisting in light of key issues.

“An uncountable number of times, Trump has claimed that evidence of fraud was coming soon,” Philip Bump said in his political analysis piece. “In the early days after the election, this was probably compelling.”

However, he went on to outline the various claims of voter fraud that were debunked and court cases that were thrown out or ruled against Trump. Bump wrote, “That his insistences before the election that fraud would happen were simply replaced with insistences that fraud would be proved, an unending con job that continues to this day.”

Still, Bump fails to address any of the indisputable evidence that many things just weren’t right about the 2020 presidential election. One of the most notable is the fact that Trump won 18 of the 19 bellwether counties without winning the election, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The 2020 election also marked the most mail-in ballots in any election due to the COVID-19 pandemic, USA Today reported. Though no fraud was proven on this account, the irregularity, novelty, and popularity of a difficult to verify method at least justifies skepticism.

Moreover, the lead-up to the election revealed that the leftist media was as entrenched in propagandizing for the Democrats as ever. The bombshell about evidence of family corruption on the laptop of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was actively suppressed and dismissed as Russian disinformation until recently, when even the New York Times admitted it was genuine.

Proven accounts of people stuffing ballot boxes or fudging signatures aren’t necessary to undermine the election results. All that’s needed are a few points that make suspicion about the results a reasonable conclusion — and that’s what Trump and his supporters have been saying all along.
