Former President Donald Trump publically called on Fox News Network to let go of Chris Wallace, one of its more popular hosts, according to Newsmax.
Trump’s comments came in the form of a statement released by his own Save America PAC on Monday said:
“Why does Fox News keep Chris Wallace? His ratings are terrible, he’s ‘almost’ Radical Left, he was acknowledged to have failed badly as a Presidential debate moderator (except for Biden who he totally protected!), and so much else.” The former president punctuated his statement by adding that, “Usually, these are not the qualities of a long-term stay!”
Wallace is once again in Trump’s bad graces since it has become more and more apparent that he has sympathy for the left and their agenda.
On Sunday the Fox anchor interviewed centric Dem Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) who appears to be the only Democrat supporting the Republican-backed filibuster.
Thanks to the evenly divided Senate Manchanin’s decision has been a holdup for the Senate Democrat majority leader’s wish-list of major overhaul of voting laws.
Wallace, however, took Manchin to task over his support of the Republican effort during his interview on “Fox News Sunday.”
“By taking it off the table, haven’t you empowered Republicans to be obstructionists?” Wallace goaded Manchin. He also later asserted that Manchin was “naïve” for believing that he could help facilitate bipartisan cooperation among Senate Republicans.
Trump and Wallace have a longstanding feud, which was prompted by the president’s disgust in what he called a clear political bias the likes of which is normally seen on Fox’s competitors, such as CNN and MSNBC.
“He’d like to be Mike Wallace, that’s his father,” Trump said last year of Chris Wallace. “He was disastrous. He was your basic disaster. You know, it’s just he’s a very negative guy and the people don’t want to hear that. That’s why they tune out.”
