Former President Donald Trump offered surprisingly positive words regarding Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas while blasting former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a recent interview.
“I don’t think Bibi ever wanted to make peace,” Trump told Axios reporter Barak Ravid.
Regarding Abbas, the report noted,” ‘I thought he was terrific,’ Trump told me of Abbas, reflecting on their ‘great’ first meeting. ‘He was almost like a father. Couldn’t have been nicer. I thought he wanted to make a deal more than Netanyahu.'”
Trump was also angry with Netanyahu over him congratulating President Joe Biden on his victory that he felt was too early.

The story may do more damage to Trump than he realizes. Pro-Israel Americans were a large part of the group that helped elect him to office in 2016.
