When it comes to criticism of the prosecutors going after him, former President Donald Trump, gag order or not, doesn't hold back.
His latest verbal assault on Special Counsel Jack Smith and others pursuing cases against him made headlines, as he suggested Smith and others will eventually end up in a "mental institution" should he win the election next year, Newsweek reported.
In a Truth Social post, Trump held nothing back as he excoriated Smith and the federal prosecutors who he insists are running a weaponized process against him to hurt his 2024 campaign.
"Deranged Jack Smith, Andrew Weissmann, Lisa Monaco, the 'team of losers and misfits' from CREW, and all the rest of the Radical Left Zealots and Thugs who have been working illegally for years to 'take me down,' will end up, because of their suffering from a horrible disease, TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME (TDS!), in a Mental Institution by the time my next term as President is successfully completed," he wrote.
President Trump just posted this on Truth Social. He said Jack Smith, Andrew Weissman, Lisa Monaco, CREW and the Radical Leftists who are trying to destroy him will all end up in a MENTAL INSTITUTION by the time he completes his second term.

Some noted that Trump seems to be testing gag orders against him, which were put in place -- and in legal limbo in most cases -- after making similar statements about the prosecutors going against him.
Previous similar comments on Smith, whom Trump has repeatedly called "deranged," got the former president a gag order from U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan—presiding Trump's election subversion case—which prohibits him from attacking prosecutors, court staff and witnesses.
The former president's comments regarding Smith and others were well received by his supporters.

While the gag order is an ongoing point of contention on both sides, Trump still maintains a dominating lead in the GOP primary polls, and increasingly in general election polls against President Joe Biden.
Many Democrats have sounded the alarm in recent days as more polls show Biden slipping -- badly -- and Trump gaining.
Only time will tell what the former president says next.
