President Donald Trump is essentially a lame duck executive. However, he is still protecting the American people and working hard on their behalf in the waning days of his administration.
On Tuesday evening, Trump announced on social media that he would not be signing the coronavirus relief package Congress had already passed, the New York Post reported. The president absolutely savaged the bill calling it a “disgrace” because it was loaded with pork spending while not doing enough to help those affected by coronavirus shutdowns.

Trump said the bill contained 5,000 pages “which nobody in Congress has read because of its length and complexity.” He railed against the aid promised to several foreign countries, the seemingly pointless pet projects including — for some odd reason — many involving fish, as well as other wasteful programs that have nothing to do with COVID-19 at all.
The president focused acutely on the lack of aid being sent to where it was needed while simultaneously giving illegal aliens up to $1,800 each.. “This is far more than the Americans are given. Despite all of this wasteful spending and much more, the $900 billion package provides hardworking taxpayers with only $600 each in relief payments and not enough money is given to small businesses.”
He went on to say that it didn’t do enough for restaurants “whose owners have suffered so grievously” during the endless shutdowns. “They were only given a deduction for others to use in business, their restaurant, for two years. This two year period must be withdrawn, which will allow the owners to obtain financing and get their restaurants back in condition,” Trump urged. “Congress can terminate it at a much later date, but two years is not acceptable. It’s not enough,” Trump said.
Trump was angry that Congress funded lobbyists, special interests and foreign countries “while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it” most. ” It wasn’t their fault, it was China’s fault,” he said of the virus that originated in Wuhan, China as their government tried to cover it up.
“I am asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 or $4,000 for a couple,” Trump said. “I’m also asking Congress to immediately get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items from this legislation and to send me a suitable bill or else the next administration will have to deliver a COVID relief package, and maybe that administration will be me, and we will get it done.”
Trump has done so much to fight for Americans, and calling out Congress for an awful bill that is bloated, wasteful, and not helpful to the American people demonstrates his continued commitment to doing what’s right. The bill was loaded with pork spending while being miserly to the people it was supposedly crafted to assist. Unfortunately, it appears as though President-elect Joe Biden will take the oath of office next month no matter what. In the meantime, Trump is cementing his legacy as the greatest defender the American people ever had against the waste and corruption from the swamp dwellers in Washington, D.C.
