Though President Trump’s legal team has encountered major roadblocks in its attempts to challenge the results of the 2020 election, Donald Trump remains committed to fighting until the bitter end.
Trump just announced on Saturday morning that he will be protesting the Congressional certification of the election on January 6th in Washington D.C., promising that the event will be “wild.”
Though electors met last week to cast their votes for president, January 6th is significant because it’s the day Congress meets to officially recognize the winner of the election.
The president pointed to a new report from White House adviser Peter Navarro containing allegations of widespread election fraud, saying that Navarro’s findings prove that it’s “statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election.”
“Peter Navarro releases 36-page report alleging election fraud ‘more than sufficient’ to swing victory to Trump […] A great report by Peter,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election.
“Big protest in D.C. on January 6th,” Trump promised. “Be there, will be wild!”
Navarro’s 36-page report released on Thursday “assesses the fairness and integrity of the 2020 Presidential Election by examining six dimensions of alleged election irregularities across six key battleground states.
The report concluded that there are established “patterns of election irregularities … are so consistent across the six battleground states that they suggest a coordinated strategy to, if not steal the election, strategically game the election process in such a way as to … unfairly tilt the playing field in favor of the Biden-Harris ticket.
