Trump urges Mitch McConnell to ‘get tough’ on Russia collusion ‘hoaxers’

After years of investigations and accusations, the Russian collusion hoax is crumbling before our very eyes, and Donald Trump wants those responsible for it to be held accountable.

Trump issued an urgent warning on Saturday to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) that “time is running out” to hold “hoaxers” accountable, as McConnell focuses the Senate on approving federal judges.

Trump appeared to accuse GOP leaders of dragging their feet on acting on the new evidence, referring to an op-ed written by Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway in the Federalist calling upon McConnell to address “the resistance.”

“If he [McConnell] doesn’t hold the Resistance accountable for the Russia hoax that harmed his party and the entire country for many years, he won’t have a majority in the next term,” Hemmingway wrote.

The Federalist editor Sean Davis shared the article in a tweet, writing:

Mitch McConnell has spent years pretending as though the Russian collusion hoax never happened. If he thinks he’s going to keep the Senate majority and confirm more judges without addressing the hoax and holding the hoaxers accountable, he’s lost his mind.

Trump, who has maintained a strong relationship with McConnell and Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC), took a rare swipe at the pair over their reluctance to pursue the new evidence revealing misconduct at every level of the Obama administration.

“Mitch, I love you, but this is 100% true,” Trump tweeted. “Time is running out. Get tough and move quickly, or it will be too late. The Dems are vicious, but got caught. They MUST pay a big price for what they have done to our Country. Don’t let them get away with this! @LindseyGrahamSC.”
